African Insurance Sector Achieves 2% Of Target Premiums: AIO President

Hassan El Sayed, president of the African Insurance Organization (AIO), has hailed Egypt’s Prime Minister Hesham Kandil for inaugurating the 40th AIO conference which means he supports the goals of the Organization.

The African insurance industry has achieved 2% of the target premiums which is US$ 6 billion, he revealed. As African insurance sector has witnessed recession, insurers shall focus on micro-insurance so as to increase investment opportunities, he noted.

AIO has recently organized a number of events and it plans to cooperate with the World and African Banks to hold training courses in Kenya and Ghana.

Abdel Raouf Kotb, chairman of the Insurance Federation of Egypt, said the 40th AIO conference aims to find solutions to the challenges facing insurance sector in Africa.

Egypt’s PM Hesham Kandil, Minister of Investment Yehia Hamed and president of AIO Hassan El Sayed have attended the 40th AIO conference which was launched in Cairo today.
