Plastex 2016: Ahram Plastic targets 60% increase in sales in two years

Cairo-based Ahram Plastic Group intends to increase the volume of sales to 400 million Egyptian pounds (US$51 million) in 2016, a 60 percent higher recorded in 2015, its chairman Hany Halim announced.

In 2015, the company recorded sales worth 250 million pounds.

Ahram Plastic is one of the biggest companies among a group of sister companies engaged in manufacturing, printing, importing, exporting as well as trading rolls, bags, machineries of plastic and raw materials.

On the side lines of 15th International African-Arabian Exhibition for Plastics Industries – Plastex 2016 kicked off Thursday in Cairo, Halim told Amwal Al Ghad that the company’s total investments stood at 60 million pounds in the local market.

Ahram Plastic is planning to pump new investments worth 30 million pounds within two years, Halim said.

Meanwhile, Al-Romany Plastics, an affiliate company, achieved sales amounting to 230 million Egyptian pounds in 2015 amidst plans to register 500 million pounds over two years, Halim said. It plans to pump investments worth 25 million pounds in the coming period.

PLASTEX 2016 is the leading international trade fair dedicated to the plastic machinery, components, raw materials and chemicals at the MENA region. The fair presents products and services, technologies and innovations, trends and tendencies for trade markets. It is an international meeting-place for worldwide suppliers and regional manufacturers.
