Al Rajhi : Sukari Mine Recorded Half a Billion Loss Since 25th January

The labours’ strike led by the workers of Sukari mine gold mine costed the company owning the right to use and the Egyptian economy financial losses of half a million EGP since the beginning of the set-ins.

Esmat Al Rajhi, public relations director at Centamin Egypt which has the right to use and extract gold from Sukari mine, said the financial loss is heavy and the workers are still protesting for a sixth consecutive day.

In a special statement to Amwal Al Ghad, Al Rajhi added that Egypt has many sites suitable for the extraction of precious and expensive metals, on condition that the coming law will protect the rights of citzens and investors to explore, expressing his willingness to place Egypt among the top mining countries all over the world.

He also pointed out that such loss affects not only the company but the Egyptian economy as a whole, given that both mining and non-mining investors have lost trust in Egypt’s investment climate, stressing that Egypt will never be able to improve and invigorate its economic status untill we  restore security and safety in our beloved country.
