Alexandria Customs issues clearance for EGP 3.9 bn cars, spare parts in June

Alexandria Customs collected total taxes and duties of 1.167 billion Egyptian pounds for issuing customs clearance for cars and spare parts at a combined value of 3.905 billion pounds during June in eighteenth month of introducing zero tariffs on cars imported from the European Union (EU), according to head of the Customs Authority Kamal Negm.

Egyptian Ministry of Finance for releasing total number of 7030 cars with a total value of 2.157 billion pounds during June.

A large number of these cars were exempt from the payment of more than 105 million pounds under the EU-Egypt association agreement and Agadir agreement.

Additionally, Alexandria Customs collected taxes and charges of 247 million pounds for releasing 2123 trucks, microbuses, motorcycles, and tractors valued at 807 million pounds in June
