All land, maritime, air ports in Egypt will be linked through single window system

The national project for modernising and automating the customs administration system aims to link all land, maritime, and air ports with an electronic platform through the single window system, the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, said.

Two logistics centres at El-Dekeila and Port Tawfil ports will be operated in March, while two others at the ports of Ismailia and Safaga will be operated before the end of June, Maait added in a statement on Thursday.

Following the operation of the ports, the single window system will cover more than 95 percent of the imported goods.

The project will help streamline customs procedures, cut the cost of goods, and decrease the customs clearance time, he pointed out.
