AmCham: President Sisi’s recent US visit was a turning point in US-Egypt ties

Door-Knocking delegation has sensed a great response from the U.S. administration to the demands of the Egyptian private sector and the visions it proposed for the future of the Egyptian-US economic partnership, said AmCham President Anis Aclimandos on Wednesday.

Aclimandos made these statements during closing meetings of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo’s Door-Knocking delegation to Washington.

Aclimandos stressed President al-Sisi’s recent visit reflected a turning point in the Egyptian-American relations. This visit has paved the way for the Americans to accept all the scenarios of cooperation put forward by representatives of the Egyptian private sector during this visit.

The US officials in the decision-making circles appeared to welcome and develop all forms of economic partnership with Egypt to include new areas.

He added that Washington was well aware of the real importance of Egypt and its great weight in the Middle East, which is a hub of hot operations during the current period internationally. He stressed that the United States understood the stability of the Arab region depends on the stability of Egypt, that is why Washington has to support its strategy of the war on terror.

He also pointed to the introduction of a new concept in the American administration regarding reasons behind the spread of terrorism during the last period.

The United States realized that the economic factor among other factors causing the spread of terrorism in the region.

The economic reform affects not only the standard of living of the individual, but also extends to his life and beliefs in general along with his degree of response to the calls of extremism and intellectual and material terrorism.
