Arab Contractors (AC) is to finish restoration works at Cairo International Convention Centre (CICC) in Nasr City within the upcoming two months, Chairman Mohsen Salah asserted Thursday.
In March 14, 2015, a large fire erupted in CICC injuring at least 16 people as sixteen fire trucks were sent to the scene and the armed forces sent 25 fire trucks to extinguish the fire.
The total cost of restoration works is estimated at 500 million Egyptian pounds (US$65.5 million), Salah stated.
Restoration works encompasses two phases; first phase included removing blaze’s effects and wastes as well as enhancing construction elements in damaged buildings, the chairman clarified.
Meanwhile, the second phase would include the architectural works as well as upgrading means of civil protection in different halls by installing modern fire alarms and faster mechanisms to avoid serious accidents.
Moreover, restoration works are made in Cheops Hall, The Gallery halls and surroundings.
