Saudi Arabia’s state oil producer Aramco kept official selling prices (OSPs) for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged in July, with propane at $580 per metric ton and butane at $565 per ton.
In contrast, Algeria’s Sonatrach increased OSPs for LPG by 11-18 per cent due to rising demand in the Mediterranean region, raising propane by $55 per ton to $550 and butane by $75 per ton to $500.
LPG, including propane and butane, is mainly used for fueling cars, heating, and as a feedstock for petrochemicals. Aramco’s OSPs are key references for supplying LPG from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region, while Sonatrach’s OSPs serve as benchmarks for the Mediterranean, Black Sea region, and Turkey.
