ASE Benchmark Dips

Main index of Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) dropped 3.7 points during the past week operations and its daily trade also fell, by 19.6 percent.
According to weekly figures of the bourse, the benchmark decreased, upon closing of the weeks’ session, 1,990.4 points, compared to 1,994.1 points the week before, by a proportion of 0.18 percent.
As to sectors, the main index of the financial sector dropped 0.18 percent, that of services rose 0.23 percent and index of industries decreased 0.4 percent. Volume of daily trading amounted to approximately USD 12.2 million, compared to USD 15.2 million the week before, with a decline proportion of 19.6 percent.
Volume of trade of the week amounted to some USD 61.5 million, in contrast to USD 76.6 million the previous week.
Number of traded shares reached 59.6 million, done through 22,876 deals.
Financial sector dominated 61.8 percent of the volume of trade, followed by services, 21.4 percent, and finally industries, 16.8 percent.
Stock prices of 69 listed firms climbed and those of 73 others declined.
