Belgium’s producer price index for industry excluding construction rose by 0.3 per cent in July 2024 from the previous month.
This increase was driven by a 2.5 per cent rise in energy prices, while prices for total industry excluding energy fell by 0.2 per cent.
Breakdown within total industry excluding energy showed declines of 0.2 per cent for intermediate goods, 0.4 per cent for durable consumer goods, and 0.5 per cent for non-durable consumer goods, with a 0.7 per cent increase in capital goods.
On a destination basis, prices increased by 0.2 per cent in the domestic market and 0.7 per cent in non-domestic markets.
Year-on-year, the index rose by 0.01 per cent, with a 0.5 per cent drop in domestic prices and a 1.2 per cent increase in non-domestic prices.
