Egyptian Court Reduces Mahienour El-Masry’s Jail Sentence to 6 Months

An Alexandria appeals court has reduced the jail sentence for prominent activist Mahienour El-Masry from three years to six months, in addition to fining her EGP 50,000 on charges of violating Egypt’s protest law last December.

El-Masry and other activists were detained after protesting during the retrial those allegedly responsible for Khaled Said’s death.
