Builders of Egypt to unveil plans to upgrade construction labour potentials

Egyptian Ministries of Manpower and Education will be taking part in the Builders of Egypt proceedings, which will be running between 1 and 2 March.

The two ministries aim to reach a unified vision to develop the labour working in construction sector, so as to cope with the country’s anticipated national giant projects that need a trained manpower that is capable of achieving assigned projects efficiently on time.

Manpower Minister Gamal Sorour is set to participate in the main session of the forum to showcase his ministry’s strategy to achieve a new comprehensive system of upgrading human resources skills and to enable the youth to catch job opportunities in the construction sector on the basis of their skills.

Under the rubric “A Road to develop National Projects”, the second edition of the Annual Builders of Egypt Forum will take place to discuss the world’s latest technologies in the construction industry and how to benefit from them locally.

Several international firms have recently expressed keenness to establish projects in Egypt in accordance with new building technologies; and may be with the help and expertise of foreign contractors’ expertise. Therefore, the forum will highlight the importance of training the Egyptian builders and contractors so as to be well-acquainted with those new technologies and to eventually be qualified with carrying out the state national projects.

From his part, Hassan Abdel Aziz – Chairman of the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC) – stressed on the necessity of assessing the current situation of training the Egyptian contractors.

Through greater integration between the private and public sectors as well as e a suitable budget, Egyptian construction sector shall witness better training techniques, Abdel Aziz said.

The labours’ efficiency are among a number of standards the Egyptian official has set so as to witness local construction firms’ taking part in the country’s planned giant development projects.

In the same vein, Niazy Sallam – Chairman of the Egyptian Qualification Development Bank – will participate in Builders of Egypt Forum through a special session to unveil the bank’s plan to develop the skills of the construction labours and staff in the coming few years.

Organised by the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors and the Cairo-based PR agency, Excellent Communications, Builders of Egypt is the first of its kind forum to discuss the challenges haunting the Egyptian construction sector.
