CAPMAS: National Railways’ July revenues hit 155.2 mln Egyptian pounds

The Egyptian National Railways Authority’s total revenues registered 155.2 million Egyptian pounds ($17.4 million) during July, the country’s state statistics agency CAPMAS said on Monday.

Earlier, the Authority’s revenues recorded 121.4 million pounds during July in 2015.

In a monthly bulletin, CAPMAS has stated that the revenues of the railways were up to 128.8 million pounds during June against 98.6 million pounds in June 2015.

The report has stressed that the number of the passengers increased to 20.5 million in July versus 17 million in the same period of 2015. Whereas in June, the number was slipped to 18.8 million from 20.5 million.

The quantity of goods transferred in the railways fell to 256.8 million tonnes from 352.5 million tonnes July 2015.
