Car Insurance Accounts For 79.5% Of Complaints In May

Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) received 73 complaints against insurance companies and private insurance funds in May, compared to 58 complaints in April. 60.3% of the complaints were against property insurance companies, 21.9% of which were against life insurance companies, and 17.8% of which were against private insurance funds.

56.8% of complaints raised by insurance policy holders against property insurance companies were of supplemental car insurance and 22.7% of which were of compulsory car insurance.

40 complaints were concluded in May; 27% of which were in favor of the customer, 70% of which were in favor of the company and 3% of which were dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
