CBE: Foreign T-bill holdings reach 424.3b by Jan ’24

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that foreign customer investments in treasury bills rose to 424.381 billion Egyptian pounds by the end of January 2024, compared to 393.151 billion pounds at the end of 2023.

The private sector banks’ investments in treasury bills reached 640.919 billion pounds by the end of last January, compared to 649.564 billion pounds at the end of the previous year, as per the report.

The report added that the public sector banks’ investments amounted to 296.288 billion pounds at the end of January, compared to 343.087 billion pounds at the end of 2023.
