Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdalla held bilateral meetings with the governors of the central banks of Zambia, Mauritius, and Nigeria. These meetings focused on strengthening co-operation among the three African central banks.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB) 46th annual meetings held in Mauritius on September 3-4.
The visiting governors expressed their appreciation for CBE’s efforts in combating inflation and supporting African financial stability. They commended the Central Bank of Egypt’s monetary policies and its role in steering the Egyptian economy on the right track.
Governor Hassan Abdalla reciprocated by expressing his eagerness to further collaborate with his African counterparts in areas of mutual interest.
The African Central Banks Association, headquartered in Dakar, Senegal, is a non-profit organisation established in 1968. It aims to promote cooperation among African central banks and plays a key role in implementing the African Union’s monetary cooperation program.
