CBE: Money Supply Rose 7.4% Yr/Yr In May

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Thursday the M2 money supply rose 7.4% in the year to the end of May.

Money supply was EGP 1,067.9 billion (US$176.19 billion), up from EGP 1,058.8 billion at the end of April and EGP 994.4 billion at the end of May 2011, according to Reuters.

Domestic liquidity (M2) registered EGP 1,067.9 billion in May 2012, EGP 1,058.8 billion in April 2012 and EGP 994.4 billion in May 2011. The year-on-year change was 7.4% in May 2012, 7.3% in April 2012 and 11% in May 2011.
