CBE Sets MPC Meetings Schedule For 2013

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has set the Monetary Policy Committee’s meetings schedule for 2013.

The Monetary Policy Committee, composed of 9 members of CBE’s board, sets the monetary policy of the country after studying the economic and financial reports done by monetary policy sector at CBE. These studies and reports include the latest local and international developments and inflation risk estimates before deciding on the interest rates.

In its recent meeting on December 6th, MPC decided to leave overnight deposit and lending rates unchanged at 9.25% and 10.25% respectively, as well as repo rates at 9.75% and credit and discount rates at 9.5%.
