CBE: Tourists Number Declined To 1.1 mln In November 2012

The number of tourist arrivals in Egypt fell to 1.103 million tourists by the end of November 2012, compared to 1.163 million tourists at October 2012, according to the latest reports of the Central Bank of Egypt.

The inbound tourism from European countries reached 834.000 tourists, as Europe represent the biggest tourism source to Egypt. The number of tourists coming from Middle East countries amounted to 162.000 ones, 43.000 tourists came from Asia continent and Pacific. Africa ranked fourth, as 37.000 tourists visited Egypt, while North and South America’s tourists numbers reached 25.000 ones and 2000 tourists from other countries.

The incidents took place in November 2012 resulted in decreasing the numbers of inbound tourism to Egypt.These incidents are the tragedy accident of Assuit train, in which more than 40 children were killed, the anniversary of Mohamed Mahmoud clashes, and the constitutional declaration issued by President Mohamed Morsi.
