China’s cabinet has approved five new nuclear power projects, including the first phase of the Jiangsu Xuwei project, Reuters reported citing China’s news agency Xinhua.
The Jiangsu Xuwei project, developed by a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Power, will have a designed capacity of 2,866 megawatts and is currently in the preparation stage.
This approval marks a significant step in China’s expansion of its nuclear energy infrastructure.
