China targets EU medical devices in new import restrictions

China’s finance ministry said on Sunday it is restricting imports of medical devices from the European Union that exceed 45 million yuan ($6.3 million) in value, Reuters reported on Sunday.

The ministry added that it will also restrict imports of medical devices from other countries if they contain EU-made components accounting for more than 50 per cent of the contract value. The measures took effect on Sunday.
