China’s Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and nine central departments have released on Saturday new guidelines to drive digital development and green growth.
The new guidelines aim to promote environmentally friendly practices in digital industries and facilitate the green transformation of various sectors using digital technology.
The guidelines target to accelerate the integration of emerging technologies with green, low-carbon industries, enhance traditional industries using digital and green technologies, and ultimately achieve coordinated digital and green development.
They establish fundamental principles and define the roles of authorities, industry associations, universities, research institutes, and businesses in driving this transition.
The guidelines provide a three-part framework encompassing basic capacity, technological systems, and industrial systems for digital-green integration.
