China registered a current account surplus of 387.6 billion yuan ($54.5 billion) in the second quarter of 2024, as per a statement published by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) on Tuesday. The capital and financial account recorded a deficit of 343.8 billion yuan in the second quarter.
For the first half of 2024, China’s current account surplus reached 669.0 billion yuan ($93.7 billion), while the capital and financial account deficit amounted to 878.8 billion yuan, according to the statement.
