Hisham Ramez, vice chairman and managing director of Commercial International Bank (CIB) and former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), has met the Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi yesterday. It was said the president will appoint Hisham Ramez as CBE’s governor following Farouk El Okdah.
Egypt’s cabinet yesterday denied a report that CBE’s governor Farouk El Okdah had resigned. According to the draft constitution, a senior government official cannot take more than two terms in office. El Okdah occupied this post for three consecutive terms.
