Crypto millionaire numbers nearly double in a year
The number of cryptocurrency asset owners with holdings exceeding $1 million has nearly doubled in the past year, rising by 95 per cent to reach 172,300 people, according to a report by Swiss consulting firm Henley & Partners.
The study also revealed that the number of individuals owning cryptocurrencies worth over $100 million grew by 79 per cent, totalling 325 as of June 30. Additionally, the world now has 28 crypto-billionaires, marking a 27 per cent increase from last year.
The report highlighted a significant 111 per cent rise in bitcoin millionaires, with 85,400 people now holding substantial amounts of the digital currency.
Overall, the global number of cryptocurrency users has surged to 560 million, a 32 per cent year-on-year increase, with the total market value reaching $2.3 trillion, up 89 per cent.
