Dana Gas to expand investments in Egypt’s energy sector

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, held talks with Richard Hall, CEO of Dana Gas, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt’s energy sector and explore ways to strengthen collaboration.

El-Khatib highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering a favourable investment climate by offering necessary incentives and addressing challenges faced by foreign investors.

He emphasised that energy is a strategic priority for the government, with efforts underway to streamline regulatory procedures and encourage greater foreign investment.

He noted Dana Gas’s role as a key partner in Egypt’s energy sector and expressed the ministry’s readiness to support the company’s expansion plans to meet growing energy demand and enhance resource sustainability. The meeting also reviewed Dana Gas’s future expansion strategies in Egypt, including joint projects to develop new gas fields and promote sustainable growth in the energy sector.

Hall reaffirmed the company’s intention to expand its presence in Egypt, outlining the company’s plans to broaden its investments in Egypt in the coming years and contribute to infrastructure development and the transition to renewable energy.
