DMF launches MENA Digital Awards Competition for the second year in a row

Najla Semaan: Our aim is to promote digital media innovation in the Arab region

The Digital Media Forum (DMF) announced that it is now welcoming new applications for the MENA Digital Awards (MDA) competition for the second consecutive year. Through the MDA, the DMF seeks to promote the role of digital media in the Arab world by offering the ideal platform for recognizing excellence in the use of digital technologies and media, fostering creativity and innovation and honoring the people and brands behind the digital media sector ‘s progress.

Talented Egyptians can start applying to the competition via the website www.menadigitalawards.com from now until Feb 15, 2015. The jury comprised of 14 internationally renowned digital experts who represent major digital institutions and commercial brands, will select the winners and the Awards will be distributed on March 25, 2015 in a ceremony that will be held at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort in Dubai.

Najla Semaan Mazboudi, Owner and Founder of the DMF and MDA and Managing Director of SpotOn Media and Events, stated, “The MDA competition launched by the DMF is a prototype model which aims at promoting the role of digital media in various industrial activities and offering the best digital media and marketing achievements in the fields of planning, creativity and innovation.”

Semaan added, “The awards will cover all forms of technical and creative digital work from any communication discipline and not just the media for the purpose of promoting the digital media industry through a set of clear-cut criteria. The awards will honor the strongest entries in a number of categories including: Best Search Marketing campaign, Best Use of Data, Best Performance Campaign, Best Mobile or Tablet Application, Best Use of Mobile, Best Use of Mobile Commerce, Best Use of Social Media, Best Use of Video, Best Viral Campaign, Best integrated Digital Campaign,  and Best Integrated Media Campaign.”

The DMF unites all connected parties who aspire to adopt the latest technological expertise in the field of digital media and marketing, as the forum aims to study the digital forces driving the future of digital media and marketing and the requirements needed for bringing about the necessary impact.

Semaan concluded her statement, maintaining, “The DMF has always been held in Dubai because we believe in the importance of radically transforming the kind of digital technology currently prevailing in the world. Last year, the DMF was held in Cairo for the first time since its inception in 2011 and it was a smashing success due its promising potential in supporting the digital media sector, which will makes us host the DMF in Cairo for the second year in a row. “
