Dubai Customs Launches The Online Open Contest “Nema”

Dubai Customs has announced the launch of an online open contest, entitled “Nema”, for everyone to share their proposals and contributions in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), from which the best proposals for sustainable and economically-rewarding projects in the fields of environment, community, trade activity, work environment, national identity and customer service, will be chosen.

Nema was specifically designed to encourage online public contributions in CSR programs, enabling all segments of society from different nationalities in the UAE and beyond to exchange new CSR-related concepts and ideas.

“The direct aim behind the Nema contest is to encourage all people from their positions to contribute to their community and propose sustainable and economically-rewarding enterprises that fall within any of the institutions’ corporate social responsibilities that can be adopted and implemented for the benefit of the society,” said Ms. Feryal Tawakul, Executive Director of Community Affairs and Government Partnership Division, Dubai Customs .Proposals can be submitted electronically through Dubai Customs ‘ e-mail: csr.dc@dubaicustoms.ae or its Facebook : Dubai Customs CSR, and twitter: @DubaicustomsCSR

The deadline for submitting the proposals is September 30, 2012.

Proposers of the winning projects will be awarded decent cash money and will have the opportunity to be part of ventures they suggested.

“Nema” will not be open to Dubai Customs staff but their families and friends can take part in the online contest.

It is worth mentioning in this context that Dubai Customs has recently won the e-government shield award as the best interactive platform on the Facebook at the competition organized for government agencies and official websites in the Arab states by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development and the Internet Awards Academy in the Arab World.
