EBRD mulls $100 million loan for Egypt’s Banque Misr
EBRD anticipated loan promotes financing for MSMEs in Egypt
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is studying the provision of a senior unsecured loan of up to $100 million to one of the oldest and biggest banks in Egypt, Banque Misr.
The new loan, pending a final review, will be on-lent to eligible micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Egypt.
It will “support BM’s lending activities and expand access to finance for the underserved MSME segment.” the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
