The Egyptian economic court has adjourned the consideration of the appeal hearings that filed by 16 companies against the verdict of bankrupting “Omar Effendi” till October 22nd, in order to include the appeal and considering them before other judiciary court.
The defense added that there is procrastination in deciding the case. The government spends salaries the companies’ salaries while it refrains from giving the importers their rights, therefore; considering the case before the court, specialized in the economic disputes, should be as soon as possible.
Last January, Cairo Economic Court returned several verdicts of bankrupting “Omar Effendi”, in a case filed by Banque Misr and a number of importing companies, as it owns EGP 600 million. However, Hesham Abd Rabou, the importers’ lawyer, submitted an appeal on these verdicts.
