EGX 30 Ends At 5662 Pts Amid Foreign Profit-Taking Deals

During Thursday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has trimmed its early losses to eventually reach EGP 1.75 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 391.859 billion.

The main index, EGX30 dived by 1.11% to end at 5662.15 p.  EGX20 inched lower by 0.85% to close at 6652.51 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap, EGX70 rose by 0.01% to conclude at 543 pts.  Price index EGX100 also went down by 0.43% to finish at 898.59 p.

A number of capital market experts forecasted that the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices will witness a short-term profit-taking transactions due to the series of upwards and profits achieved since President Mohamed Morsi has assumed office.

Experts said witnessing profit-taking deals within the coming days is quite normal as the investors would be willingly benefit from the recent gains. The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had a series of losses as a reverse impact of the revolution, experts added.

Traded volume reached 234.129 million securities worth EGP 895.134 billion, exchanged 47.215 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 183 listed securities; 98 declined 75 advanced while 10 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians were net buyers seizing 88.52% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 37.741 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs tend to profit-taking transactions as they were net sellers seizing 7.24% and 4.24% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 30.524 million and EGP 7.216 million excluding the deals.

Leading Shares:

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards except for the stock of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) returned to Wednesday’s levels at EGP 4.92.

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) trimmed its early downwards to 1.75% to close at EGP 0.56.

Orascom Construction Industries:

Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) sank by 1.75% to conclude at EGP 289.36.

Orascom Telecom Holding:

Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) tumbled by 1.64% to end at EGP 3.60.

Commercial International Bank:

Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) went down by 1.34% to close at EGP 33.15.

EFG-Hermes:

EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) slumped by 1.22% to end at EGP 12.95.

Mobinil:

Egyptian Company for Mobile Services – Mobinil – (EMOB.CA) inched lower by 0.95% to close at EGP 158.92.

Citadel Capital:

Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) sank by 0.81% to conclude at EGP 3.66.
