EGX 30 Slightly Opens Higher, Nears 5405 Pts

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX)’s indices have slightly upped on early Thursday. The Egyptian bourse has posted gains of EGP 0.508 billion during the opening session of Thursday backed by foreign buyers.

The capital market has amounted to EGP 364.207 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:18 a.m. Cairo time (09:18 GMT) on Thursday’s opening.

Benchmark EGX30’s up-swing trends towards the 5400 pts level continued opening by 0.01% higher to 5404.48 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.04% to 6211.39 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched up by 0.27% to 456.75 p.  Price index EGX100 edged up by 0.20% to 764.55 p.

Moreover during the opening session, the trading volume has reached 7.607 million securities worth EGP 29.761 million, exchanged through 1.884 transactions.

During the opening session,  98 listed securities have been traded in; 10 declined, 46 advanced; while 42 steadied.

The non-Arab foreigners and Arabs’ buying transactions have backed EGX’s opening gains as they were net buyers seizing 16.78% and 7.24% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.260 million and EGP 923.590 thousand, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, Egyptians were net sellers seizing 75.98% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.183 million excluding the deals.
