Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the green area on Wednesday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30 went up by 0.50 per cent to 52,558.39 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33 added 0.92 per cent, to 5,918.22 points.
- The EGX35-LV index rose by 0.49 per cent to 6,226.11 points
- The SMEs index, EGX70 surged by 1.42 per cent to 16,790.88 points.
- The EGX100 index advanced by 1.20 per cent to 22,607.88 points.
The total market cap reached 3,865,715,965,968 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers, with 10,085,807,588 pounds and 431,172,949 pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with a total of 10,516,980,537 pounds.
Top Gainers
- The shares of Cairo Educational Services went up by 20.00 per cent to 107.160 pounds a share.
- The shares of Glaxo Smith Kline climbed by 20.00 per cent to 88.090 pounds a share.
- The shares of Alexandria New Medical Center rose by 17.06 per cent to 141.400 pounds a share.
Top losers
- The shares of Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals – SIDPEC dropped by 10.30 per cent to 14.890 pounds a share.
- The shares of Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool sank by 7.18 per cent to 102.730 pounds a share.
- The shares of Arabia for Investment and Development went down by 6.72 per cent to 0.680 pounds a share.
