Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 0.51 per cent, to 29,979.14 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, surged by 1.09 per cent, to 3,189.49 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 rose by 0.52 per cent, to 8,524.72 points.
The index, EGX100 index increased by 0.66 per cent, to 11,679.43 points.
The total market capitalisation recorded 2,245,850,643,452 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 2,185,252,817 Egyptian pounds and 6,072,016,685 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptians were net buyers with a total of 8,257,269,503 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- Shares of the Egyptian Company for Construction Development-Lift Slab (EDBM.CA) soared by 18.41 per cent, to close at the price of 0.759 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals (MPCI.CA) climbed by 9.70 per cent, to trade at the price of 61.860 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Cairo for Investment and Real Estate Developments – CIRA Edu (CIRA.CA) jumped by 8.13 per cent, to the purchasing price of 17.290 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing (RUBX.CA) plunged by 6.57 per cent, to close at 11.670 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rakta Paper Manufacturing (RAKT.CA) dived by 4.95 per cent, to close at the price of 26.870 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment (ANFI.CA) sank by 4.09 per cent, to close at 21.790 Egyptian pounds a share.
