Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed on a green note on Wednesday. The main index, EGX30 went up by 0.83 per cent, to 29,891.61 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, jumped by 0.80 per cent, to 3,177.23 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 rose by 0.93 per cent, to 8,596 points.
The index, EGX100 index soared by 0.95 per cent, to 11,733.97 points.
The total market cap reached 2,227,522,614,861 Egyptian pounds.
The Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers with a total of 2,988,802,029 Egyptian pounds and 415,030,830 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers with a total of 3,403,832,858 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers on Wednesday
- Iron And Steel for Mines and Quarries shares rose by 10.41 per cent, to close at the price of 4.350 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Misr Beni Suef Cement shares climbed by 6.71 per cent, to trade at the price of 73.150 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Heliopolis Housing shares jumped by 6.70 per cent, to the purchasing price of 10.670 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers on Wednesday
- The Egyptian Company for Construction Development-Lift Slab shares fell by 12.17 per cent, to close at 0.628 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Mansourah Poultry shares dropped by 9.38 per cent, to close at the price of 1.740 Egyptian pounds a share.
- South Valley Cement shares declined by 8.05 per cent, to close at 4.910 Egyptian pounds a share.
