Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the red area on Sunday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 1.99 per cent, to 52,206.7 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, dropped by 2.18 per cent to 6,457.27 points.
- The index EGX35-LV fell by 2.51 per cent to 6,366.48 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, sank by 2.23 per cent to 19,255.25 points.
- The EGX100 index plunged by 2.26 per cent to 25,421.74 points.
The total market cap reached 4,122,902,033,759 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 43,801,894 Egyptian pounds and 58,684,216 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, Egyptians were net sellers with 102,486,110 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Catalyst Partners Middle East –CPME surged by 10.02 per cent, closing at 45.990 Egyptian pounds per share.
- The shares of Arab Developers Holding rose by 4.40 per cent, reaching 0.285 Egyptian pounds per share.
- The shares of Sinai Cement went up by 3.98 per cent to close at 89.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- The shares of Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool went down by 8.19 per cent to close at 146.900 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Glaxo Smith Kline dropped by 7.27 per cent to close at 306.000 per cent a share.
- The shares of Delta For Printing & Packaging dropped by 6.95 per cent, to close at 283.790 Egyptian pounds a share.
