Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the red area on Sunday, with the main index, EGX30 going down by 1.21 per cent, to 29,594.48 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 also fell by 0.31 to 3,067.66 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 dropped by 0.87 per cent, to 8,129.97 points.
The index, EGX100 index was 0.78 per cent lower, to 11,181.23 points.
The total market cap reached 2,165,989,752,485 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 470,461,390 Egyptian pounds and 2,240,176,216 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptians were net buyers with a total of 2,710,637,606 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- Shares of Grand Investment Capital (GRCA.CA) jumped by 12.44 per cent, to close at the price of 12.020 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt (AJWA.CA) climbed by 10.17 per cent, to trade at the price of 99.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Egyptian Arabian Company Themar for Securities Brokerage SAE (EASB.CA) surged by 6.37 per cent, to the purchasing price of 4.510 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of National Housing for Professional Syndicates (NHPS.CA ) sank by 7.49 per cent, to close at 50.010 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Copper for Commercial Investment & Real Estate Development (COPR.CA) dived by 4.70 per cent, to close at 0.365 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Mena Touristic and Real Estate Investment (MENA.CA) plunged by 4.47 per cent, to close at the price of 4.060 Egyptian pounds a share.
