Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mostly red on Tuesday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.59 per cent to 52,299.31 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, advanced by 0.42 per cent to 5,864.28 points.
- The index EGX35-LV climbed by 0.08 per cent to 6,195.56 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, rose by 0.05 per cent, to 16,555.46 points.
- The EGX100 index leaped by 0.03 per cent, to 22,340.68 points.
The total market cap reached 3,837,024,629,136 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers, with a total of 1,846,085,872 Egyptian pounds and 5,785,899,340 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, Egyptians were net sellers with 7,631,985,212 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Alexandria New Medical Center went up by 20.00 per cent to 120.790 pounds a share.
- The shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT rose by 20.00 per cent to close at 247.590 pounds a share.
- The shares of Cairo Educational Services jumped by 19.99 per cent, closing at 89.300 pounds.
Top losers
- The shares of Misr Oils & Soap dropped by 4.49 per cent to 283.770 pounds at closing.
- The shares of Cairo Pharmaceuticals fell by 3.76 per cent to close at 432.930 pounds a share.
- The shares of Ismailia National Food Industries sank by 3.60 per cent, closing at 99.910 pounds a share.
