EGX closes in red on 18 August 2026

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) ended in the red on Tuesday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30 went down by 0.25 per cent to 55,276.78 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33 dropped by 0.45 per cent to 6,606.93 points.
  • The index EGX35-LV went lower by 0.18 per cent to 6,869.81 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70 fell by 0.48 per cent to 21,667.02 points.
  • The EGX100 index plunged by 0.54 per cent to 27,953.58 points.

The total market cap reached 4,291,934,583,801 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers, with a total of 6,565,357,250 pounds and 4,109,824,924 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 10,675,182,174 pounds.

Top gainers

  1. The shares of North Cairo Mills went up by 20.00 per cent to 229.620 pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Lotus For Agricultural Investments And Development rose by 19.97 per cent to close at 1.424 pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Cairo Educational Services jumped by 19.97 per cent, closing at 154.940 pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. The shares of Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation dropped by 9.46 per cent to 341.000 pounds a share.
  2. The shares of El Arabia for Land Reclamation fell by 8.53 per cent to close at 417.100 pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Misr Beni Suef Cement sank by 8.03 per cent, closing at 363.860 pounds a share.
