EGX Early Gains Of EGP 1.7 Bln On Arab Purchases

Amid Sunday’s early session, the EGX managed to post gains of EGP 1.7 billion as the capital market amounted to EGP 352.040 billion.

The main index, EGX30 climbed 0.78% to reach 4967.51 p. EGX20 went up 1.55% to reach 5828.11 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 hiked  0.90% to reach 427.44 p. Price index EGX100 edged up 0.90% to close at 779.01 p.

Traded volume reached million 5.127 million securities worth EGP 12.665 million, exchanged through 836 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 69 listed securities; 3 declined and 62 advanced while 4 keeping their previous levels.

Worth mentioning that the main reason for the EGX30’s blooming is that the Arabs were net buyers seizing 5.82% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.944 million, excluding the deals according to data compiled at 9:35 GMT (11.35 p.m Cairo time).

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners and Egyptians were net sellers seizing 88.35% and 5.83% respectively, with a net equity of EGP 1.626 million and EGP 317.904 thousand, excluding the deals.
