EGX Loses EGP 1.06 Bln On Foreign Selling Pressures

On Thursday’s session, the EGX posted losses of EGP 1.06 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 354.960 billion at 10:50 GMT (12:50 in Cairo).

The main index, EGX30 fell 0.37% to reach 5012.82 p. EGX20 inched down 0.22 % to hit 5858.72 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged down 0.21% to hit 432.96 p. Price index EGX100 dropped 0.37% to reach 785.13 p.

Traded volume reached 27.741 million securities worth EGP 11.795 million, exchanged through 6.821 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 148 listed securities; 80 declined and 40 advanced while 28 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 70.62% and 8.31% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.249 million and EGP 3.464 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 21.08%,  with a net equity of EGP 12.714 million, excluding the deals.
