EGX Losses EGP 1 Bln On Foreign Selling Pressures

On Wednesday’s closing session, the EGX posted losses of EGP 1.055 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 356.019 billion.

The main index, EGX30 fell 0.48% to close at 5031.68 p. EGX20 inched down 0.21 % to close at 5871.85 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 slumped 0.11% to close at 433.88 p. Price index EGX100 dropped 0.39% to close at 788.06 p.

Traded volume reached 76.532 million securities worth EGP 332.547 million, exchanged through 16.796 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 168 listed securities; 88 declined and 64 advanced while 16 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians were net buyers seizing 79.47% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 29.806 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 15.71% and 4.82% respectively,  with a net equity of EGP 18.010 million and EGP 11.795 million, excluding the deals.
