Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed on a positive note on Thursday, with the main index, EGX30 rose by 0.46 per cent, to 30,552.82 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, increased by 0.4 per cent, to 3,200.18 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 saw a rise of 0.42 per cent, to 7,865.06 points.
The index, EGX100 index rose by 0.38 per cent, to 11,067.58 points.
The total market capitalisation recorded 2,196,221,819,030 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians were net buyers with a total of 7,152,561,432 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with a total of 4,818,855,599 Egyptian pounds and 2,333,705,833 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
- Shares of El-Nile Co. For Pharmaceuticals And Chemical Industries soared by 19.80 per cent, to close at the price of 52.330 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals climbed by 18.31 per cent, to trade at the price of 59.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Cairo Poultry jumped by 11.22 per cent, to the purchasing price of 13.180 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Egyptian International Pharmaceuticals (EIPICO) plunged by 6.35 per cent, to close at 49.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rights Issue Of Aspire Capital Holding for Financial Invest sank by 5.97 per cent, to close at the price of 0.063 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage shares dived by 5.87 per cent, to close at 0.690 Egyptian pounds a share.
