Egypt advancing Qasr al-Aini Hospital, Helwan University expansions

Egypt is advancing renovations to Qasr al-Aini Hospital as part of a major project aimed at transforming it into a world-class medical complex, as per a Cabinet statement on Sunday.

The development, which includes expanding the hospital’s capacity and improving services to over two million patients annually, is set to be completed in time for the hospital’s 200th anniversary in 2027. The plans also address traffic congestion in the surrounding area by adding parking spaces and upgrading infrastructure.

In addition to the hospital’s renovation, Egypt is also planning to allocate new land for the expansion of Helwan University. The new campus, located in one of Cairo’s new cities, will accommodate the growing number of students and support the introduction of new academic programmes.
