Egypt allocates EGP 299.6m for National Veal Project

Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation approved the allocation of EGP 299.6 million for the National Veal Project, benefiting 428 small-scale breeders, according to the Egyptian Cabinet. The funding will support the fattening of 4,280 cattle as part of the Decent Life Presidential Initiative to develop rural areas and improve the livelihoods of small farmers and breeders.

Since its launch, the project has received over EGP 9.289 billion in funding, benefiting 44,400 individuals and supporting the breeding of 514,000 cattle, including high-yield dairy heifers, to boost red meat and dairy supply while maintaining fair market prices.

Eligible applicants can access funding through their nearest agricultural administration, branches of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt or the National Bank of Egypt, or by contacting the Livestock and Poultry Development Sector.
