Egypt appoints Mostafa Ismail as MSMEDA chief

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday oversaw the leadership handover at the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), where newly appointed Chief Executive Mostafa Ismail succeeded Basel Rahmy.

Madbouly thanked Rahmy for his contributions, saying the progress achieved during his tenure provides a strong foundation for the agency’s next phase of development, and wished him success in his future endeavours.

He congratulated Ismail on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to build on the agency’s achievements and strengthen its role in supporting entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to increase the sector’s contribution to the national economy.

Madbouly called for continued efforts to modernise MSMEDA’s operations, improve public services, expand access to finance and business support services, and strengthen coordination with relevant government entities to promote economic development, create jobs and support local production.
