Egypt approves 12 new carbon reduction projects

Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) recently approved the registration of 12 new carbon emission reduction projects, bringing the total number of registered projects to 16.

These projects have been added to the FRA’s carbon emission reduction project database, FRA Chairman Mohamed Farid, announced during EFG Hermes’ 10th Annual London Investor Conference.

Efforts are underway to issue voluntary carbon emission reduction certificates for these 16 projects, which will be traded through the voluntary carbon market.

This initiative aims to support Egypt’s environmental goals and promote sustainable practices across various industries.
