Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi spoke by phone on Tuesday with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in trade and investment.
President Sisi outlined Egypt’s ongoing efforts to ensure the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. This includes facilitating the exchange of hostages and detainees and accelerating the delivery of humanitarian aid to ease the worsening crisis. He also stressed the urgent need for Gaza reconstruction. The Egyptian president also called for a unified Arab stance to support lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
King Hamad praised Egypt’s critical mediation role in brokering the ceasefire, highlighting the importance of ensuring its full implementation and advancing a political process that leads to a permanent peace settlement in the Middle East.
The two leaders also reviewed developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, and Sudan, agreeing on the need to work collectively towards stability.
