Egypt bans onion exports for 3 months – Cabinet

Egypt announced it will stop exporting onions for the final three months of 2023, said the Egyptian cabinet on Wednesday.

The decision will help the government in controlling the prices in the Egyptian market.

Egypt is known to produce around three million tons of onions per year. However, due to the ongoing global inflation wave, prices of onion faced an increase.
