Egypt Bourse end Bearish with EGP2.7bn Losses

Egypt’s stocks plummeted on Monday with losses worth 2.74 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 359.3million).

The market capitalization has recorded 492.477 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.

 

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 went down by 0.65 percent to 8672.3 points.

EGX20 inched lower 1.67 percent to 8947.03 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 shrunk by 1.27 percent to 456.08 points.

The price index, EGX100 saged by 0.93 percent to 965.9 points.

Turnovers low

On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has registered 131.633 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 638.755 million, exchanged through 19.485 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 173 listed securities have been traded in; 112 declined, 31 advanced; while 27 kept their previous levels.

 

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and Non-Arab investors were net sellers on Monday getting 82.38 % and 11.12% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 18.414 million and EGP 3.148 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Arab investors were net buyers capturing 6.51% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 21.562 million, excluding the deals.
